Sell Your Own Home - Update
Ok, I’ve stopped daily updates about selling our own home. Truth is, there just isn’t that much action in real estate to justify daily postings. However, today we have 3 showings scheduled, so that is very good news. We haven’t got much in the way of feedback. One of the downsides about selling your home without a realtor is that other real estate agents won’t talk to you in the same way. It isnt’ anything against people selling their homes themselves, it is just that they can’t be sure that the homeowner understands the code that goes along with giving feedback and might use something that is said later in a way that another realtor wouldn’t. So, we put out sheets to solicit feedback. That way either the client or the realtor can jot something down if they feel so inclined.

I replyed to an earlier post of yours and realized you may never see it if I didn’t respond to the latest one. So here it is again:
I too have my house listed on Iggys and haven’t gotten the first call. Now I realize why. On realtor.com the only contact number is Iggys and it is an automated line, so no one knows how to contact us. The “iggy number” is not listed on realtor.com and that number is required to get anywhere on the automated number. How did people know to get in touch with you? Our number IS listed on iggyshouse.com, but it’s now been down over a week (not that we got any calls before that). We’ve been trying to figure out why we haven’t gotten a single call! Any response or help would be appreciated!

Your MLS listing has not been setup right if this is the case. Our MLS listing does have our phone number. I got pretty good response to my email about adding pictures to our MLS listing, so I would suggest you fire off a quick email to them to let them know about the error. Even more concerning is that the Iggyshouse site seems to be down. Not sure if this is just one of those Internet things, or if there is a problem.

Thanks for the response; so you got Iggy’s to add more pictures to your MLS listing? I didn’t know that was an option! I was wondering how you were being contacted; your response clarifies that issue at least. After over two weeks of being unavailable, now the iggy’s website says it is “temporarily unavailable” and if you have any questions to contact them with an email address. I have emailed them my issue, as well as asked them how long the site will be down. I am not expecting a timely response. I wonder what is going on.

Ah, now I see the problem. What YOU can see on a public listing does NOT include the contact information of the seller. That information can only be seen on the “professional” view from paying subscribers which are usually real estate agents. Have someone who is a real estate pro check your info for you.
