What is Rakuten? Is Rakuten legit, or is Rakuten a scam? Can you really earn hundreds of dollars using Rakuten to shop online? How does Rakuten work? Ebates is now Rakuten. Rakuten bought out eBates and renamed it, just like it did with buy.com. Rakuten is legit and Rakuten is not a scam. I’m updating my Ebates review and turning it into one of the rakuten.com reviews. If you have had even an inkling of interest in real estate in the last few years, you have probably heard of Zillow, the online real estate website. It’s one of many online financial services shaking up the game like the Acorns savings app, or the Digit app. Zillow built its audience on the concept of a Zestimate, and online, computer-based algorithm that provides an estimate of the value of your home. People love seeing what their house is “worth” today, this month, and over time. The Zestimate is updated as often as the algorithm gets new data. Are Zestimates Real Estimates? Zillow has had to fight off people from the real estate industry who don’t like the company giving people ideas that makes it harder to earn that real estate commission. Have you ever wondered what a website from the US Government about money and personal finances would look like?  Wonder no longer. The US Financial Literacy and Education Commission (what did that cost?) provides a basic financial resource for investing, saving, retirement planning, mortgages, and even starting a small business, all on mymoney.gov. I’m not saying anything on there is earth shaking knowledge that you probably didn’t know, but it is always nice to have an unbiased government resource to direct people to whether you are in finance or not.  There’s nothing scarier than sending your Grandma to a finance website and just hoping that there are no money scams on there waiting to ambush her.
