Capital One Rewards Catalog Holiday Edition

Every year, the various credit card companies send out, or make a fun web-based Christmas holiday versions of their rewards offerings. The holiday edition of Capital One No Hassle Miles rewards catalog is one such offering. To get a Capital One rewards catalog in the mail may require some finesse.

The 2023 Capital One Rewards Holiday Catalog showed up recently. I didn’t seem to get a Capital One rewards catalog 2022. Of course, we’ll be looking into these special reward offers and seeing if there are some good bargains, or if these points redemption offers aren’t worth it at all.

One quick note is that there is no special on redeeming Captial One points for gift cards. Some CapitalOne Miles Rewards still redeem at one percent, which is 1% cash back equivalent. In other words, for every $10,000 you spend and earn points or miles at the rate of 1 per $1, your cash back rate would be equal to 1%. Of course, there are numerous opportunities to earn bonus miles and extra rewards in the Capital One No Hassle Rewards program. For example, the Capital One Venture card gives you 2 points for every dollar, essentially doubling your cash back equivalence. With this holiday edition of the Capital One Rewards Catalog, it looks like you will have to load up on those if you want a fair rate on your miles redemptions for gift cards.

Our in-depth look is coming soon. If you want a couple of quick highlights to get a feel for how good the Capital One Rewards specials are in this year’s holiday catalog, here are a couple of samples. This Capital One Miles Rewards Matrix is just a quick sample. We’ll be back with more special points redemptions and other good deals once we get a chance to do some more in-depth analysis.

New redemption features include Shop with Points at Amazon and Redeem with Paypal. The nice thing about shopping at Amazon with Capital One rewards miles or points is that you can cover just part of the purchase and pay for the rest in cash. In other words, you can take $50 off of buying a new computer monitor, or something link that.

And, of course, as always, you can redeem miles via the CapitalOne Travel portal.

Some older offerings in the Capital One rewards catalog included:

  • Xbox 360 Elite 120 GB Bundle = 111,750 Miles
  • Nintendo DSi Bundle (includes 2 Games) = 56,500 Miles
  • Nikon Coolpix S220 10 MB Digital Camera = 34,250 Miles
  • Sony Bravia S-Series 1080p HDTV 40-inch screen = 243,500 Miles (439,250 points for 52″ screen)
  • Razor Pocket Rocket Miniature Electric Bike = 63,250 Miles
  • KitchenAid Artisan Stand 5-Quart Mixer = 67,750 Miles

As usual, it looks like the best credit card rewards are cash back, gift cards, and bill credits. So far, there doesn’t seem to be any exceptions this year. That is because credit card companies like Capital One try and price their rewards points at the full manufacturer list price. That means that if you get even the normal retail level street pricing, you’ll come out behind redeeming your Capital One Rewards points for merchandise.

You can use the website to see the exact value of your miles redemption for gift cards.

For example, a Barnes & Noble gift card for $100 costs 12,500 miles. That works out to 100 miles = $0.80. Some cards offer better redemptions rates, like the Xbox gift card which 100 miles = $1.00 is just 10,000 miles for a $100 gift card.

(Don’t forget, depending upon your card, this works out even better. For example, the Captial One Venture card earns 2 miles for every dollar spent, so you’re getting that Xbox gift card for $500 of spending instead of $1,000 of spending.)

Capital One No Hassle Miles card is still one of the top credit card rewards programs.

Be sure to check out all of Capital One’s various rewards cards and make sure that you have the right one for you. Remember, don’t worry too much about credit card rewards rankings or reviews. What works best for you won’t necessarily work best for others.

    • Hi. I’m not affiliated with Capital One, but if you login to your online account, there is often a button or link that goes to an online rewards catalog. That can be a good place to start. Then, you can request a Capital One Rewards catalog by mail from there.

  2. I’m trying to find the rewards catalog so that I can use my 69,000 air miles to redeem a gift.

Where is that catalog available? On what website? Can a catalog be sent to me by snail-mail?

    • Gene,
I get mine in the mail from time to time, usually twice a year. Once near the holidays. I guess they figure lots of people might redeem them for Christmas presents.

Be sure to keep your address with them up to date even if you do not get paper statements sent to your home anymore.

I can scan a page for you if you are looking for something specific. Otherwise, you’ll have to go through the website.
